Tomorrow's class cancelled

Based on the poll on the Blog, I have decided to cancel tomorrow's class :-(

Firstly, you all deserve a little break after two great performances in two weeks!

From a more practical point of view, for those who haven't heard yet, my two-week old trailer has been written off by the insurance company after a neighbor accidently hit the accelerator instead of the break when she was trying to reverse close to where my trailer was parked. I am of course trying to get a new trailer asap but this might take weeks. I will need some help in the next few weeks I think to transport instruments :-(

Enjoy your Thursday evening - can I suggest you put on a CD with Brazilian music to stay in the mood...

Remko, just a design idea for the new trailer Mk II: opening on the side like Denis' ute would be easier to load and access the instrument. Don't need to reach too far inside and risk straining the back.

Thanks Brian I'll consider this.

can you paint it pink and green, and maybe an inbuilt esky for beer.

Brian, I've had a look and it's not possible to have a side door as the wheel cover would be in the way and there won't be enough space left. Thanks for the idea though.

Angus, it will have artwork, don't you worry!!! I'll leave the beer supply to the Polish Club, though.

With a bit of simple woodwork modification on the inside, the floor level can be brought to the level of the wheel cover. The doors, then , can be closed down neatly.

By raising the floor level, you will can create a false bottom where you can store knic-knacs like straps, drum beaters , shakers, microphone stands etc. It may be even high enough to install a shallow esky for the beers !

I'll send you an email of the rough sketch on PDF file. See what you think.

Thanks Brian. I will now consider something like a false floor for PART of the trailer at the back, at the front there's no space with 2 surdos on top of each other already with millimeters to spare only. Side doors still a no-go unfortunately.

Wait! How about a roll-out awning in striped pink and green, coming out from the side? :) That way, when we are waiting for a gig to start, we can relax under the awning. :) :)

I still think inflatable surdo's are the way to go
