I'm back and I have photos

In case anyone is interested, my holidays photos are posted on my picasa site.

I didn't make it to any samba schools but I did get to hear some pretty amazing traditional Irish music and I was able to visit a bodhran workshop where the bees knees of bodhrans are crafted by hand.

Enjoy!

Thanks for today!

Thank you all very much for some great performances today! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. I was really impressed with how you all reacted on my unpredictable queues on the kiddies stage, it didn't matter if I sang, whistled, played or whatever, you guys were there when you needed to be. I've had some great reactions again so well done!

Many many thanks to Erin and Angus for helping out with the instrument transport nightmare, and of course to the one and only Gail for looking after Ruben so well when we did the parade! I wouldn't be able to do all this without you all guys!

Details for Sunday - multicultural festival

Hi all, I'm trying to finalise the details for this Sunday's gig at the multicultural festival at Roma Street parklands, and will continue to change this post as more details become available. Still have some transport issues to work out, so keep checking please.

The parade together with the african and sri lankan drums which will only have 10 people that attended the rehearsal last Saturday will start at 2pm at the lake lawn. We will need to be there by 1.30pm. The parade will lead to the amphitheatre and will finish at 2.20pm.

Our performance, for which everyone is invited, will be at the Children's stage and will start at 3pm. We will need to be there by 2.30pm. Note this is only 10 minutes after the parade ends! This performance will also have an element of audience (kids) participation - always a lot of fun!

Dress code: creative Pink & Green. I have ordered some shirts from Brazil that I was hoping to be able to use this gig but unfortunately they haven't arrived yet.

This Thursday, we need to sort out some final logistics at the rehearsal, see you there!

PS: Jason Machado will perform at the Lake Stage 5.30-5.55pm with Nicki. If I can find someone to look after Ruben that time, I'll join them too!
