Trivia Night

Paul and I have decided we'd like to have a go at a classic pub trivia night. All are welcome...
Chalk Hotel - 735 Stanley St Woolloongabba - 7pm Tuesday 16th October. & if you're running early...there's a pole dancing class for the ladies from 6.30pm. Cheers.

I'm in! What with my sunday-mail-quiz-almost-up-to-Paul-and-Katherine's-standard-general-knowledge prowess (in joke, Paul will get it), I think there's a lot of fun to be had!

Can I suggest we open our own list of trivia as well. So post your favorite trivia question as a comment here (but not the answer)!

Q1: which marsupial faithfully protected Brian's shoulder from injury?

Claire said...

Q2: What is the most common injury sustained by surdo players? (hint: it is NOT self inflicted stab wounds!)

Claire said...

Q3: Why won't bandaids remain stuck to the palm of my hand no matter which brand is applied?

Maybe I should try araldite...

Q4: why hasn't Marcel posted a question yet? It's been over 3 hours now. Slacker...!

Marcel said...

Obviously I'm in as well, to answer all continental questions, and, more accurately, all questions about 1980s music.
My question: why is pole-dancing particularly p[opoular among Scottish males?

answer to Remko: give me a minute, mate!

A1: Possum, but Claire has a beaver that does a similar job on her basket

A2: I think it's a brain injury, obviously suffered prior to taking up the surdo

A3: because you need to take the little plastic covers off first, Claire

A4: hmmm... he has so much to think about - 80s music, continental issues, oversexed Scotsmen, ...

A5: don't know, but they are very fond of tossing their cabers

Q6: What happened to REO Speedwagon?

Oh, and why should the pole dancing be limited to the ladies? I thought we were all about equal opportunities here!

You think you're funny don't you, Paul? We've been over this before...it's not a beaver, it's a possum. Remember the shade of red you turned after you said it the first time? But thank you for your extremely helpful advice about the bandaids! Why didn't I think of that? You'd imagine that these things would click for a first aider...

Marcel said...

I actually think you are extremely funny, Paul.
Except for REO Speedwagon.

Oh, and Remko, you do realise that some of the more complicated pole dancing moves require you to shave your legs to secure sufficient grip? (well, so I've been told by someone carrying a beaver around in a wicker basket)

Claire said...

It must be pick on Claire day.

Paul said...

We're not picking on you Claire, we love you. How did you lose the skin from the palms of your hands, by the way?

Paul's highly recommended 'weekly video of the week': Phil the Alien.
This is an off-beat Canadian flick about an alien called Phil who befriends a talking beaver. I recommend you all hire it, or we have another Brisamba movie marathon at Remko's place to watch it. For the Dutch and hippies out there, I'm sure the experience would be enhanced by some free-range herbs (at least that's what I was told recently by a friendly beaver). Personally I'll stick to Little Creatures.

Spam spam spam wonderful spam wonderful spam, this is surreal beavers, and pole dancing, I think I am having one of my 'incidents' I must take my pills

Marcel said...

So, apart from magic-mushroom-spam eating Aussie brits, are people still up for tomorrow's Trivia?
I'm game, and will probably try to be there around 6:30. Contrary to your expectations, I might focus my attention on getting some food & a table, rather than the pole dancing.

If others have the same plan, we could also make it a bit earlier, if wanted. Blogg, I say, or email, or text message me.

Marcel said...

Of course, you could even give me a call, although I'm prone to hang up in the face of difficult and/or non-trivial questions.

Paul said...

I'll be there from around 6, also looking for a meal. See you there!
