The last 2 videos give you an idea of my plans with the samba school this year. Everyone up to it? Already I'm teaching Fernando cavaco (and he's doing great). I now have a plan for a PA as well. And I'm writing a plan based on the valuable input from you all in the last week.
Bring it on!
Our version of Pais Tropical, at Angus' party, sound better than Monobloco ! The talents are there .
Like the modern arrangement very much. Thanks Fernando, for introducing us to Monobloco.
May be we need to change our name if we go the direction of Monobloco.
" Brisbane Samba School " sounds lethargic. Need a young, vibrant name for a new sound .
Something like "Life of Brian"?
Fantastic! I love the second two!!! I think it's a great idea that we go in a fresh and exciting direction such as that. Thanks for posting those Fernando :)
Love these! Let's do it! Thanks, Fernando.
I've been rewatching these, and think we should learn the reggae one first. In terms of performance, it would be a really good contrast to start a show with raging samba to get everyone's attention and get them dancing, then kick back into reggae with the crowd singing along, and then go back into fast samba after they've had the reggae.
Also, a reggae in the middle would give the shakers players' arms a rest. :)
