Thank you all very much for today's performance and workshops at the Queensland Roar Community day! I thought it was very funny how nobody dared to complain about the rain, after a few months without a drop. Thank you also for your help during the workshops, it is always a lot more fun when there are a few (or many) experienced sambistas, as this makes things happen a lot quicker and people will be able to understand the concept much more easy. In particular I'd like to thank Donna for her help in handing out instruments to participants. Thank you!
Special thanks to Cedric and Loic for playing today even though they are moving house today as well, and very very big special thanks to Stephanie for letting them go! Let me know if I can help with some personal marriage counseling...
Despite the rain, the organisers were very pleased and like to talk about further cooperation between Queensland Road and Unidos da Primavera! This might involve a half time performance for 11 home games and maybe also playing at the Suncorp Plaza prior to the games, like we did last month ... everyone up to it?
Cheers!

Remko, How come I don't get a thank you mention ? . . . . Didn't complain about the cold all day.
Kinderen die vragen worden overgeslagen!
I'll only play at the Roar games if they promise to arrest us again at every game.
Sorry I couldn't make it today, guys.
Brian, in case your wondering, Remko basically says that in the cold, harsh lands of Nether, this does not qualify as a cold day (it's practically summer!) and you never get a thank you (why do you think I turned out the way I did?). I like the pictures, though. Are Erin and Claire looking at Remko's new practice plan?
ps:
that's "your" as in "you're"
Yes, it was a sort of practice plan, or more of a regime really....Hours of slogging over tamborim workshops, caixa workshops, costume design ideas, etc. All this and more, coming to your nearest slavedriver's studio. Now we are going to have to study the Roar team members so we can address them (make fun of them) by name! So much work, so little play...
By the way, you may have noticed that, after sifting through about 6 different old usernames and passwords, I managed to stumble upon one which would actually allow me to post and comment!! Amazing! Thanks Remko, for your assistance! And by the way, you know all the stuff I mentioned above is far from 'work' to me. It's more of a long time love affair-come-obsession. And no, Dale, I cannot allow you to retard my learning, even if it has to take the form of personal tamborim workshops in the break time. My learning, you see, is retarded enough!!
Does this mean we can change our colours to orange and blue?
Marcel, thanks for the independent and impartial translation. . . . I'm afraid to ask Remko. Don't trust a foreign language with an exclamation mark !
We would of course need a mascot to dance in a manic manner whilst we play to cheering crowds. Let me think....I know a giant 5 meter dutch teddy bear dressed in pink, who could do that... hum let me think...of course Marcel!
5 meter? you're obviously either still struggling with the metric system, or you've been drinking too much again, and are looking up from the floor. (I'm not claiming I look like a 5 meter tall pink bear when viewed from the right angle. Although, in the right light...)
There go the oars again...
